BSc Honours in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Student
My experience as a 'transfer' student may not reflect what others have experienced, or maybe, for a few it does.
I was genuinely surprised upon being accepted to Trent that I was even considered a transfer student (I had graduated from Nipissing University in 2011).
I read what is required for bringing in transfer credits and at no time did I think I would qualify. Yet, without question, Trent immediately processed my transcript from Nipissing and allotted me 10 transfer credits. That is technically half of a degree. Now, I am currently in an incredibly specialized program and will need to account for more credits than just half, yet, I do not have to take any electives at this time. What that means for me, as an adult student and mother, is that I can focus on my degree requirements more fully and work with Trent, the amazing staff and faculty, to get myself trained to support our environment and agriculture sooner.
Without the transfer program Trent so generously provides, continuing my education, even a decade and a half later, would be much more on an already heavy but wholesome plate.
