Trent University will host a free, virtual SoTL Symposium on Thursday, February 19th and Friday, February 20th, 2026. The Trent SoTL Symposium will feature presentations from faculty and staff working in higher education across Canada on a range of topics related to SoTL research and educational development work. This year's SoTL Symposium theme is "Teaching and Learning from One Another" in recognition of the symposium's goal of fostering connections and community amongst SoTL-engaged faculty and staff. 

 

The SoTL Symposium will feature four conference tracks:

  • Paper presentations (20 minutes with 10 minutes for questions) - SoTL projects well underway or finished
  • Projects in progress (20 minutes with 10 minutes for questions)- SoTL projects in earlier stages of development where the investigators are looking for feedback
  • Educational development snapshots (20 minutes with 10 minutes for questions) - SoTL-focused programs and initiatives by educational developers
  • Strategic SoTL conversations panels (40 minutes)- panels on state-of-the-field topics
