Trent University offers free, confidential mental health supports to help students cope with stress, manage challenges, and maintain well-being during their time at Trent. Supports are available in-person and virtually, and are designed to meet students at different levels of need.

Counselling Services
Trent Counselling Services provides free, confidential, short-term mental health support to all registered Trent students. Services are focused on helping students participate full in academic and campus life.
Counselling Services offers:
- Individual Counselling: Short-term, confidential counselling with a professional therapist
- Single-Session Therapy (SST): One-time appointments focsed on a specific concern or goal
- Groups and Workshops: Therapeutic and educational sessions offered throughout the academic year
- Self-Directed Resources: Online and print resources to support independent well-being
Appointments are available in person and virtually during business hours, Monday to Friday.
Specialized and Identity-Affirming Supports
Trent offers counselling and referrals that recognize the diverse identities and lived experiences of students:
- Indigenous Student Counselling (through First Peoples House of Learning)
- Support for racliaized and 2SLGBTQ+ students through referral pathways
- Graduate and undergraduate student acess across campuses

Student Wellness Centre and Health Services
Mental health support is part of Trent's broader Student Wellness Centre, which also provides:
- Mental health assessments and treatment
- Referrals to medical specialists
- Gender-affirming care, including hormone provision and care planning
Health Services are available by appointment to registered Trent students.

I.M. Well App
I.M. Well is a mobile app that integrates on-campus and off-campus mental health supports in one place. Through I.M. Well, students can access the Student Assistance Program, which includes counselling, coaching, legal, nutritional, and other support services. The Student Assistance Program is available 24/7.
Good2Talk Ontario
Good2Talk is a free, confidential, and anonymous helpline providing professional counselling., information, and referrals for post-secondary students in Ontario. Support is available 24/7, 365 days a year.
