With many transfer agreements and flexible pathway options, Trent University makes it easy for students to make the most of the credits you have already earned.
Whether you're graduating from an Ontario high school, looking to study in Canada, or training for a second career, Trent has clear pathways for students to apply and be admitted to study at either of our campuses.
In the math program, once you hit the upper year courses the class sizes are very small, which is great because it allows for more communication with your instructors.
- Work with mathematical and statistical software such as MATLAB, R and Sage Math in Trent’s Math Resource Room.
- Deepen your areas of expertise by leading a research project supervised by one of your professors, examining topics like graph theory, infectious disease modelling and time series analysis.
- Pursue a summer research fellowship and partner with leading professors on real-world topics such as the statistical modelling of air pollution and mathematical biology
- Complete a community-based research project with an external organization, applying mathematical skills to solve real-world challenges.
- Courses cover a variety of areas such as linear and abstract algebra, analysis, computer-oriented mathematics, differential equations, discrete mathematics, the history of mathematics, mathematical logic, measure and integration, topology, mathematical and applied statistics, time series analysis and stochastic processes.
- Take your Trent education global. Spend a semester or year studying at one of Trent’s international partner universities, participate in a summer field course, or gain international experience through a placement or internship.
- With opportunities in more than 35 countries, you can broaden your academic perspective, experience new cultures, and build skills that prepare you for a global career.
- Apply your mathematical knowledge in a professional setting through the Integrated Internship course.
