In November 2021, Trent University and Champlain College established a committee to consider and reflect upon the Champlain legacy at Trent.
Trent University’s vision statement commits it to the creation of "vibrant, engaged and sustainable communities of learning, teaching and research committed to free enquiry and expression."
In October 2020, the President established the Anti-Racism Task Force (ARTF). Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President Academic, it was asked to investigate issues of equity, diversity, inclusion & racism at Trent University, and to formulate recommendations to ensure that Trent is an institution which is committed to equity and diversity.
