David Goyette Appointed as Government Relations Advisor at Trent University

Trent University is pleased to announce the appointment of David Goyette as a part-time advisor to the president on government relations.

President Groarke has said that “David brings with him remarkable experience at all levels of government. I believe he will be a key ambassador for the University, helping us tell our story at Queen’s Park, in Ottawa, and in Durham and Peterborough. Achieving our goals requires a positive working relationship with government. This is, I believe, something that David can help us foster.”

David has a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning (M.Pl.) from Queen's University. He has a distinguished record of providing communication and government relations counsel to Canada's political and business leaders, and most recently served as the executive assistant to Peterborough Mayor Daryl Bennett.

In a fiscal context in which the University is reducing budgets and working to constrain its costs, this advisory position will be a part-time, contract role which will replace a previously full-time position in government relations.
