Students create useful products from egg cartons
An eggPhone dock, a portable bed, a dream catcher and a chandelier all created from egg cartons are some of the 11 submissions from Trent University business students as part of a YOU Innovate Canada contest to create value-added products from everyday household objects.
Online voting on video submissions to the contest began on October 22 and ends on October 26 at 11:00 p.m. One vote per hour is allowed and voting often is encouraged. Teams from across Canada can win prize money and a trip to the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The YOU Innovate Canada contest shows Canadians that the spark of a great business idea simply comes from looking at an ordinary thing in an entrepreneurial way. For the second year, this national tournament is held in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week Canada (GEW Canada) to provide an opportunity for every Canadian over 16 years to engage with, connect to and see the value of entrepreneurship in their lives.
