All programs, including Outdoor Walking Groups, Adult Swim Programs, Yoga Retreats, begin in April

To usher in the start of a new season, the Athletics Centre at Trent is announcing an exciting line-up of spring fitness and aquatics programs, including old favourites like kid’s swimming lessons and judo, as well as new offerings such as pre/postnatal fitness, yoga retreats, outdoor walking groups, and more.

“Spring is a great time to begin something new and we are excited to be offering programs that will encourage our community to be active and to learn new skills,” says Marcia Campbell, Fitness and Lifestyle Coordinator at the Athletics Centre. “We are hoping that with these programs we can encourage people from all age groups to be healthy and to make physical activity a lifelong component in their everyday lives.”

New programs under pre/postnatal fitness include: Prenatal Pilates, Baby & Me Yoga and Baby & Me Aquafit. Two Spring Yoga retreats will be offered including a Relaxing retreat and an Energizing retreat. These workshops are a complement to other registered yoga programs returning for spring such as YogaThrive for cancer patients and survivors, Yoga Basics, and Yoga Challenge the Basics. Other new programs include: Dragon Boat Paddling, Aquatics Personal Training and an Outdoor Walking Group, which takes advantage of the beautiful natural environment surrounding the Athletics Centre. All programs are open to members and non-members.

To learn more about all programs, including dates, times and fees for spring session programs, visit the Athletics Centre website at www.trentu.ca/athletics and download a copy of the Spring 2013 Community Membership & Programs Guide.

All spring programs get underway the week of April 2, 2013, with later start dates for some programs, including fencing and outdoor walking. Registration for all programs at the AC is now open and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration can be completed in person at the Athletics Centre or online at www.trentu.ca/athletics by clicking the “Register Now” button.
