Leadership Matters: Science of Motion, Art of Leadership

How Kinesiology and Physical Activity Shaped My Academic Journey.

Join Dr. Sarah West, Trent University's Dean of Science, as she shares her journey through academia, into administration as a female academic leader and researcher in the field of kinesiology and health. Sarah will share how her leadership journey has been shaped by her background as an athlete, and how this contributed to her own leadership journey.

Presenter:

Dr. Sarah West is Trent University's Dean of Science. Dr. West joined Trent University in 2015 and has since served in numerous academic leadership roles, including Associate Dean of Science and Director of the Kinesiology program. Her research has focused on physical activity and health in special populations, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Leadership Matters: Connecting Knowledge & Action

This virtual lecture series is hosted in partnership with Trent’s Jarislowsky Chair in Trust and Political Leadership and the Leadership & Democracy Lab, along with the Frost Centre for Canadian Studies and Indigenous Studies and the Department of Political Studies. The series highlights diverse perspectives on leadership with the goal of sparking dialogue, sharing knowledge, and bridging leadership research with practice.
