Nogojiwanong Indigenous Fringe Festival (NIFF) is an unjuried, uncensored festival for independent Indigenous performers in theatre, dance, music and comedy. Participants send in applications and are chosen by lottery. Performers receive 100% of the box office proceeds. NIFF is proud to be a member of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals.
2023 is the Third Annual NIFF, with performers both local and from Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Edmonton. Performances take place indoors at Nozhem First Peoples Performance Space and outdoors in the Gzowksi quad near Parking Lot X and in the Warren Garden. Saturday features free family events and the festival wraps up on Sunday night with popular rock band "The Johnnys."
