Provided by Senomi Solutions Diversity Consulting and Services, this two-day virtual workshop will provide participants with foundational understanding, skills, tools and resources to begin to address challenges and barriers equity-deserving groups face in the classroom by:

• Fostering dialogue on racism and systems of oppression as it relates to teaching

• Considering forms of allyship

• Embedding understanding of social identities and intersectionality into courses

• Discussing current anti-racist and decolonial practices in curriculum and pedagogy

• Navigating difficult conversations on race in the classroom

• Embedding anti-racism and decolonial frameworks in your syllabus

The main outcome for participants will be to begin to develop the tools for creating and sustaining an equitable, anti-racist, and inclusive learning environment. This workshop is intended for faculty, staff and those with a research and teaching portfolio, and is being offered jointly by Trent’s Office of Research & Innovation and the Centre for Teaching & Learning.

Participants must attend both sessions on Oct. 26 & 27 to complete the workshop.

Part 1 - Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 12:00-3:00pm

Part 2 - Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 9:30am-12:30pm
