Coralee Leroux Appointed Interim University Librarian at Trent University
Trent University is pleased to announce the appointment of Coralee Leroux as the Interim University Librarian for a two-year term, commencing July 1, 2021. Ms. Leroux has served as Manager of Library Services at Trent University since 2019. Previously, Ms. Leroux has held various roles at institutions including the Ontario Colleges Library Service and the Ontario Council of University Librarians.
As Interim University Librarian, Coralee will have primary responsibility for the leadership and direction of the university libraries in Peterborough and Durham and will be reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President Academic. The Library is the central information and knowledge hub of the university, providing physical and virtual collections, collaborative learning spaces, and expert instruction and assistance in support of scholarship, research, teaching and learning. Ms. Leroux will also be responsible for managing, planning, and developing the libraries’ services, budget, programs and collections.
Ms. Leroux will be taking over for Robert Clarke who in the last 14 years has proven to be dedicated and committed to the university community in his role as University Librarian. In his tenure the Bata Library underwent a transformative renovation and now offers students an entrepreneurship and social innovation centre, a large selection of interactive student spaces, an educational design research studio and many more modern amenities to meet current and future demands of the University – definitely a legacy to be proud of. Robert will be going on administrative leave as of July 1, 2021, following which he will retire from Trent.
Join us in welcoming Coralee to this new role and thanking Robert Clarke for his leadership and contributions as University Librarian.
