We wanted to invite our book launch for Power With: Indigenous Knowledges, Environmental Practice and the Strength of Collaboration on June 25, 2026 at Farmhill in Keene,  4 - 7:30 p.m.

Power With is a precedent-setting collection that calls for a paradigm shift in environmental science and education toward ethical and effective collaborations between Indigenous Peoples, communities, and environmental practitioners of all backgrounds working at the intersection of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing and Eurocentric sciences. The editors and authors of this groundbreaking work address urgent questions: How does the status quo in environmental sciences support ongoing colonial impacts? How can we stand with Indigenous science? And how can collaborations address “wicked problems,” such as conservation and sustainability, in the context of climate crisis?

This text brings together insights from over 40 Indigenous and non-Indigenous academics, emerging scholars, community members, government scientists, youth, practitioners, and research collectives. Together, they formulate the central concept of “power with” through dialogue from a writers’ gathering and from case studies rooted in community-based research. Featuring 16 chapters, a foreword by celebrated Anishinaabe legal and environmental scholar Deborah McGregor, and useful pedagogical elements such as discussion questions, lists of further resources, and a glossary of terms, Power With is a clear and accessible resource with broad appeal for environmental practitioners
and courses in environmental science and studies, Indigenous studies, sociology, anthropology, geography, forestry, gender studies, and health studies.

The evening will feature catered hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and lawn games. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Here's what we have planned:

4:00–6:00 p.m. —Book signing, visiting, and enjoying food and drink

6:00–6:15 p.m. — Welcome remarks

6:15–6:30 p.m. — Short reading from the book by Barbara Wall and Mary-Claire Buell

6:30–7:15 p.m. — Moderated panel discussion featuring contributing authors, Barbara Wall, and Mary-Claire Buell
