Recent security audits by third-party organizations have identified critical security risks associated with the 'DeepSeek' website and mobile application. To protect University data and users, Trent IT is asking all members of the Trent community to stop using the DeepSeek app or website on Trent devices and recommends halting use on personal devices on which community members are conducting university-related activity.
User data collected by the DeepSeek platform is stored in the People’s Republic of China and therefore subject to different legal privacy protections than in North America and Europe.
