For Maggie, the opportunity to study abroad was all about immersing herself in a different country, culture, and language.

Child & Youth Studies student Maggie Willis was ready take her studies at Trent University Durham GTA international as she packed her bags for her study abroad exchange experience at Queen Margaret University in Scotland.

For Maggie, the opportunity to study abroad was all about immersing herself in a different country, culture, and language.

The academic experience

Speaking of the experience, Maggie said studying in Scotland was similar to the community at Trent Durham – comforting and close-knit.

“The size of the school was relatively small, which was comforting, and I was able to create connections and relationships with my professors,” she said.

During her study abroad experience, Maggie was also able to connect with family in Scotland. She also had the opportunity to travel to England, Spain, France, and Portugal.

Trent’s Study Abroad Program has long-standing study abroad opportunities with more than 58 Partners in 36 countries. During International Education Week (November 13 to 17), join the Study Abroad team for a variety of events at the Peterborough and Durham GTA campuses to learn more about study abroad opportunities offered at Trent.
