The sessions listed below will be in-person in The Student Centre Room 2.02 and on Zoom. Please register for the Zoom sessions, and if you are attending in person, let Kristine Williams know ASAP idsr@trentu.ca

 Friday, June 3rd, TSC 2.02 and on Zoom

9:00-9:50 am: Mitacs Information Session, presented by Mitacs and Trent’s Office of Research and Innovation

This information session will focus on Mitacs funding opportunities, especially the Accelerate research internship program, and how IDSR PhD students may choose to integrate an internship into their qualifying exam process. Mitacs Business Strategy Internships and Elevate Post-Doctoral fellowship programs will also be reviewed

10:00 am-11:30 am: Keynote Speaker - Dr. Cathy Bruce, Vice President of Research and Innovation, Trent University

Dr Bruce, Trent's recently appointed VPRI will speak on, "The ups and downs of collaborative research" drawing on her many years of experience conducting research in collaboration with other researchers and professionals

11:30 am-12:45 pm: BREAK

1:00-3:00 pm: Panel Discussion: Going rogue: Social Justice work in the non-profit sector

Join us for a presentation and panel discussion with social justice experts to talk about motivations, challenges, applications, and solutions within the context of the non-profit sector. Moderated by IDSR PhD candidate Lisa Ditschun
