Alumni, students, staff, faculty and friends come together to provide over $90,000 for Trent students

Choose Trent this Giving Tuesday

The Trent community rallied together once again this year in honour of Giving Tuesday to support key student initiatives including on-campus employment, financial aid, and health and wellness.

The annual day of giving back also spurred matching donations for The Campaign for Trent Durham GTA's campus expansion, Traill College, and Otonabee College for an impressive Giving Tuesday total of $91,500 raised in just 24 hours.

"Donations to Trent are so much more than financial contributions. They are gifts of experience, opportunity, and education," said Sherry Booth, director of philanthropy. "Every donor makes a difference, and although we didn't gather in-person to celebrate Giving Tuesday, the Trent community came together to support our students. I want to thank everyone for their continued generosity. We are so grateful."

In its eighth year, Giving Tuesday is a global movement where charities, companies, and individuals join together to share commitments and collectively create lasting change. Trent celebrated Giving Tuesday this year by showcasing inspiring students who have benefitted from philanthropy. The support of donors has been integral as Trent students navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

As we rise to the challenge of a changing world, the role of Trent University has never been more clear to provide a transformative learning experience that enables the next generation of leaders and innovators to reach their fullest potential.

It's not too late to support Trent students. To make an end-of-year gift, please visit trentu.ca/give today.
