Trent University Durham Greater Toronto Area is preparing for a year of developments with exciting changes on the horizon as the campus welcomes over 600 new students – the largest incoming class to date in the institution’s history – for Orientation Week 2019.

New and returning students will be greeted by new leadership, as Dr. Scott Henderson, new dean and head of Trent Durham GTA embarks upon his first academic year in the role. The growing campus on Thornton Road in Oshawa will also see the addition of a new residence and academic building on campus starting to take shape.

"Students on campus this year will take part in a memorable time for Trent Durham," explains Dr. Scott Henderson, dean and head of Trent University Durham GTA. "They will share experiences of seeing the campus and community connections grow and transform, as we construct a brand-new, six-storey building equipped with on-campus residences and state-of-the-art academic spaces."

New students have the opportunity to get fully-acquainted with the transformative Trent Durham experience during Orientation Week, which kicks off on September 1, and includes events such as guest lecturers, school spirit activities and community collaborations.

Students who participate in Orientation Week will connect with their peers, upper-year students, faculty and staff to discover all that Trent Durham GTA has to offer. They will also receive information on academic success, library services, mentoring, and student experience to help build their confidence as they enter into the academic year.
