Trent University continues to lead graduates on a path to career success as evident in the results of the recently released 2015 Ontario Graduate Survey, showing Trent’s graduate employment rates among the best in the province.

Overall, within two years of graduating, Trent students recorded an impressive employment rate of 95.41%, one of the highest graduate employment rates in Ontario. Trent graduates also recorded an employment rate of 87.4% six months after convocation. Both numbers exceeded the system average of 87% (six months) and 93% (two years).

“An education at Trent University offers students an exceptional academic and experiential learning environment, and equips them with the critical thinking necessary for today’s complex, global world of work,” said Dr. Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor of Trent University. “As we celebrate 50 years of convocation at Trent, the University continues to focus on developing unique and innovative academic programming and advanced teaching techniques that prepare our graduates for career success.”

Other highlights from the most recent graduate survey include:

  • Trent graduates of Nursing, Physical Sciences, and Fine & Applied Art all reported a 100% graduate employment rate two years after graduation;
  • Agriculture and Bio Science students from Trent see a 96% graduate employment rate two years after graduation;
  • Graduates from the Education program at Trent see an impressive 97% graduate employment rate two years after graduation;
  • Humanities graduates at Trent recorded an employment rate of 93% just six months after graduation, higher than the province average.

Trent’s exceptional teaching and learning environment also was highlighted in the recent release of the 2015 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), matching the provincial average in the majority of categories, and for senior students, Trent beat the provincial average in reflective and integrative learning, and learning strategies.

Trent University holds its 50th annual convocation ceremonies this week, starting Tuesday, June 6, 2017. A full schedule is available at trentu.ca/convocation
