Beekeeping, Soap Making & Arabic: Continuing Education at Trent Begins October 24
Registration now open for Peterborough community to pick-and-learn from over 80 classes this fall
This fall the Peterborough community will have the opportunity to learn all about Beekeeping, Chinese music, Soap Making, Arabic, and so much more through Trent University’s popular Continuing Education program.
Continuing Education at Trent will continue their “pick and learn” format, where community members have the chance to “choose their own adventure” by registering for single classes or full six or eight-week courses. Starting October 24, Continuing Education will be offering over 80 evening classes in three main groups: History & Culture; Science & Environment; and Writing. New this fall, the program will also be adding two special one-day workshops to the line-up focused on soap making, and vermicomposting.
“This fall, we are pleased to be offering Continuing Education courses that embrace the ideals of lifelong learning that Trent was founded on,” said Dr. Michael Eamon, director of Continuing Education. “We are offering a wide selection of popular courses from speculative fiction to computers that are geared to students of all ages and interests.”
Speaking of her experience in the program, Continuing Education student and community member Yumna Leghari, says: "The continuing education program was perfect for me, because I was able to attend classes and immerse myself in academia on a small budget, while still going to work every day. The classes were super accessible, and the vast topics to choose from made it very appealing for me. I learned so much, without being overwhelmed financially or schedule wise. I really recommend it to anyone who misses school, or wants a taste of university life."
All classes can be found, selected and paid for online. To ensure high quality instruction, Continuing Education uses almost exclusively graduate students enrolled at Trent as instructors. Classes are held evenings, Monday through Friday, at Trent University’s Traill College on London Street. Classes are two hours in length, start at 7:00 p.m. and are only $20 per class.
