“I chose Trent University Durham because it was the obvious best choice for me - the programs are perfectly suited for me, especially because the majors are flexible and I'm able take a joint major in History and Business; the location is my hometown so I don't have to pay for residence or for transportation; the scholarship opportunities are absolutely incredible and really eliminated other universities for me because no other school could offer me a full scholarship; and lastly, the amazing Trent Durham Student Association (TDSA) and staff at Trent Durham made me feel like I was a priority, right from day one.”

New student Anna Hetzel is thrilled to be at Trent University Durham, where she already made some new friends at last week’s orientation.

“I liked how exciting orientation week was - nothing felt silly and it made me realize that everyone is feeling the same way I was. The activities were designed to break the ice for us first years to become friends, and it was extremely successful.”

Ms. Hetzel is set to take on the year as her first full week of classes begin.

“I feel more ready than ever to tackle school. The professors all seem approachable and reasonable and I can tell this academic journey will definitely be life changing.”

Trent University prides itself on providing an outstanding personal and interactive learning environment. This story is part of the #MeetaTrentStudent series, which highlights our many student success stories and the numerous dynamic programs offered at Trent.
