Holiday Hours for Trent University in Peterborough and Durham

Holiday greetings from everyone at Trent University! Most academic and administrative operations at Trent University in Peterborough and Durham will be closed for winter holidays from Wednesday, December 23, 2015 and will reopen on Monday, January 4, 2016, however, individual office hours may vary so please call ahead.

Trent University Durham will close at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22 and will reopen Monday, January 4, and Tuesday, January 5 from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Regular hours will resume on Wednesday, January 6, 2016.

Classes resume at both campuses Wednesday, January 6, 2016 for the Winter Semester. Bachelor of Education students return to class Monday, January 11, 2016.

Student Residences will close at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 and reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016.

Risk Management and Security Operations 

Peterborough:  Campus Security will remain on duty 24/7 throughout the holiday season. All building exterior doors, labs and classrooms will remain locked. Access cards will continue to allow access to non-residence buildings. Campus Security strongly recommends you advise them, by calling 705-748-1328 or emailing security@trentu.ca, if you must access a campus building during the break. Persons without access cards and/or keys to non-residence buildings will require prior written approval from their department head that clearly specifies time(s) and location(s) of required access. Please contact Campus Security at 705-748-1328 to gain access in this circumstance.

Durham: There will be no access for students, faculty or staff during this closure. G4S Security will continue to monitor the building and property.

Bata Library offers special extended hours for exam study from Monday, December 7 to Monday, December 21. During these dates, the Library will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. daily. The Library will close for the winter holidays on Tuesday, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. Bata Library will re-open on Monday, January 4, and Tuesday, January 5 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Regular Library hours resume on Wednesday, January 6, 2016.

The Athletics Centre at Trent is open throughout the holidays, with the exception of Christmas Day. Holiday hours begin Monday, December 21, with regular hours resuming Saturday, January 2. The fall 2015 schedules for group fitness classes and the Allan Marshall Pool run through to Sunday, December 20.  Holiday schedules for both group fitness classes and aquatics will begin on Monday, December 21, and run through to Sunday, January 3. Please check the Athletics Centre website www.trentu.ca/athletics for full details, hours of operation and schedules.

University and Student Services Holiday Closures

  • Career Centre – closed Monday, December 21 at 4:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 9:30 a.m.
  • Academic Skills – appointments available until Tuesday, December 22; reopens with limited appointments Monday, January 4 and Tuesday, January 5.
  • Academic Advising - Limited appointments available until Tuesday, December 22 at 12 p.m. (phone 705-748-1011 x7333 to inquire about availability); reopens for drop-in advising, all Colleges, on Wednesday, January 6 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Housing Services - closed Tuesday, December 22 at 12:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Student Wellness Centre Health Services – closed Friday, December 18 at 4:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Student Wellness Centre Counselling, & Accessibility Services – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 4:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Centre for Academic Testing – closed Monday, December 21 at 7:00 p.m. (open for exam pick-up only Tuesday, December 22, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.); reopens Monday, January 4 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Campus Card Office – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 1:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Office of the Registrar – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 12:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Campus Tours – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 12:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Student Accounts – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 12:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 9:00 a.m.
  • I.T. Service Desk – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 4:30 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 8:30 a.m.
  • First Peoples House of Learning – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 12:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 8:30 a.m.
  • School of Graduate Studies – closed Friday, December 18 at 4:30 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Parking Services – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 4:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 8:00 a.m.
  • Human Resources /Payroll – closed Tuesday, December 22 at 12:00 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 4 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Foodservice: Chartwells hours of operation over the holidays can be found at: www.dineoncampus.ca/trent    

Bus Schedule The exam schedule runs until December 22 and will resume Sunday, January 3. The holiday schedule for all Peterborough Transit can be found at: http://trentcentral.ca/transit.php
