Trent University Holiday Hours in Peterborough and Durham

Holiday greetings from everyone at Trent University!

Most academic and administrative operations at Trent University in Peterborough and Durham will close for winter holidays on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2015, however, individual office hours vary so please call ahead.

College residences close for Peterborough campus students on Sunday, December 21 at 11 a.m. and reopen on Sunday, January 4, 2014, at 9 a.m.

Trent University Durham will close December 23, 2014 at 5 p.m., and will reopen January 5, 2015 at 7 a.m. There will be no access for students, staff or faculty during this closure. G4S Security will continue to monitor the building and property.

Classes resume Monday, January 5, 2015 for Bachelor of Education students. Winter classes resume Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

Bata Library 
Bata Library offers special extended hours for study from Thursday, December 4 to Thursday, December 18. During these dates, the Library will be open from 8 a.m. – 2 a.m., daily.

Additional Library operating times:
Friday, December 19: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday, December 20: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday, December 21: Closed
Monday, December 22: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuesday, December 23: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Bata Library will be closed for Winter Break from Wednesday, December 24, 2014 through Sunday, January 4, 2015. Bata Library will open Monday, January 5 and Tuesday, January 6 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Regular hours resume Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

Athletics 
The Athletics Centre at Trent is open throughout the holidays. Holiday hours between Saturday, December 20, 2014 and Friday, January 2, 2015 are: Monday to Friday 6 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., with the exception of Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, when the Centre will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Athletics Centre is closed on Christmas Day. Regular hours resume Saturday, January 3, 2015.

Holiday schedules for Group Fitness Classes and the Allan Marshall Pool will begin on Monday, December 15, 2014 and run until Sunday, January 4, 2015. Check the Athletics Centre website www.trentu.ca/athletics for details and schedules.

Risk Management and Security Operations 
Campus Security (Peterborough) will remain on duty 24/7 throughout the holiday season. All building exterior doors, labs and classrooms will remain locked. Access cards will continue to allow access to non-residence buildings. Campus Security strongly recommends you advise them (705-748-1328 or security@trentu.ca) if you must access a campus building during the break.  Persons without access cards and/or keys to non-residence buildings will require prior written approval from their department head that clearly specifies time(s) and location(s) of required access. Please contact Campus Security at 705-748-1328 to gain access in this circumstance.

  • Office of Student Affairs – closed December 19 at 4 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 9 a.m.
  • Career Centre – closed December 19 at 4 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 9:30 a.m.
  • Academic Skills Centre - closed December 19 at 4 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 5 at 9 a.m.
  • Housing Office – closed December 23 at 12pm, reopen January 5 at 9am
  • Student Wellness Centre (Health, Counselling, & Accessibility Services) – closed December 19 at 4 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Centre for Academic Testing – closed December 19 at 4 p.m. (open for exam pick-up only December 22, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.); reopens January 5 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Campus Card Office - closed December 23 at 1 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 9 a.m.
  • Office of the Registrar – closed December 23 at 12 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Campus Tours – closed December 23 at 12 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Student Accounts – closed December 23 at 12 p.m. but please phone ahead, reopens January 5 at 9 a.m.
  • First People’s House of Learning – closed December 23 at 12 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 8:30 a.m.
  • School of Graduate Studies – closed December 22 at 4:30 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Parking Services – closed December 23 at 1 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 8 a.m. *note January-April semester permits will be available December 15, 2014 at 8 a.m.

Chartwells hours of operation over the holidays can be found at this link: www.dineoncampus.ca/trent  

Human Resources
Department of Human Resources/Payroll will be closing on December 23 at 12:00 p.m.; reopens January 5 at 8:30 a.m.

Bus Schedule 
Trent Express services will be suspended from December 21, 2014 to January 3, 2014. Service will resume Sunday, January 4, 2015. The George North will continue to run. The holiday schedule for all Peterborough Transit can be found at: http://trentcentral.ca/transit.php.
