Campaign aims to educate and engage Canadians on issue of mental health in the workplace

Building on a strong commitment to student mental health, Trent University has joined the Not Myself Today campaign in conjunction with Partners for Mental Health to heighten awareness of mental health issues in the workplace.

“It is with much excitement that we announce Trent’s participation in this important initiative,” says Stewart Engelberg, director of the Student Wellness Centre, Health, Counselling and Student Accessibility Services at Trent University. “The Not Myself Today campaign is an engaging and non-threatening way to introduce the subject of workplace mental health to employees and managers.”

The Not Myself Today campaign is designed to educate and engage Canadians on the issues of mental health in the workplace. The campaign has been running throughout the month of May and culminates in a national Not Myself Day @ Work today, June 6, 2013.

The Not Myself Campaign at Trent will also be timed in conjunction with a similar initiative to engage students with a parallel program to be rolled out in the fall of 2013.

Partners for Mental Health, an independent registered charity, is a national organization dedicated to "supercharging" a social movement that will transform the way Canadians think about and support mental health, and act towards people living with a mental health problem or illness.
