New Trent Community Sport & Recreation Centre recognized for use of natural light and connection with outdoor environment

The Trent Community Sport & Recreation Centre (TCSRC)

The state-of-the-art new Trent Community Sport & Recreation Centre (TCSRC) was recently awarded a bronze citation in the American School & University 2011 Education Interiors Showcase, the premier competition for excellence in the interior design of educational facilities.

Describing the new Athletics Centre at Trent as having “very inviting spaces with lots of natural light,” the Showcase jury also stated, "The low-profile exterior blends with the trees and natural environment, visually tying the interior sports areas to the outdoors."

As one of the winners in the 2011 Showcase, the TCSRC, which was designed by Toronto-based architects Perkins+Will, will be featured in the August publication of American School & University and on SchoolDesigns.com
