'Movember' Fever hits Trent Oshawa

“Mo Bro’s” are popping up all over the Trent Oshawa campus this month as several male students, faculty and staff participate in ‘Movember’ in honour of men’s health.

Cleanly shaven no more, the participants are in competition not only to grow the most robust moustache, but to raise the most funds in support of prostate and testicular cancer research and be crowned Trent Oshawa’s ‘2013 Man of Movember.’

Partnered with the global Movember campaign, Trent Oshawa is involved in the Big Moustache on Campus (BMOC)Challenge, organized through Movember Canada. This challenge rallies universities across Canada to become involved and awards are given for the top fundraising campus, team and individual student fundraiser. In 2012 over 35,000 faculty, staff and students worked together in the BMOC challenge to raise over $2.95 million for men’s health. This was the single largest network and highest fundraising network involved in Movember globally.
