Forensic Science Campers in front of Crime Scene House at Trent University

Imagine...you’ve been called in the middle of the night by the police. There’s been a crime and they need your assistance and expertise to solve the case. Ever wonder what it would be like to be a forensic scientist? Well here's your chance!

Registration is now open for youth between the ages of 13 and 17 for Trent University’s Forensic Science Camp, being offered in two sessions -- August 12 - 17 and August 19 - 24, 2012.

Trent’s Forensic Camp provides a unique learning environment and the opportunity to learn – through hands-on activities from practicing experts – in disciplines such as wildlife forensics, forensic entomology, forensic anthropology, bloodstain pattern analysis and much more.

At Trent’s state-of-the-art DNA laboratory, campers will gain firsthand knowledge of how DNA technology and other analytical techniques are used in investigations. In the Crime Scene House, campers will learn how to collect evidence, process a crime scene, and follow steps to take the evidence and present it in court.

Trent University’s Forensic Science campers have the option of coming just for the day or staying overnight on the campus for the full university experience.

Full and partial bursaries are available for those who demonstrate financial need or academic excellence.*One FREE day-camper spot will be awarded to a Trent employee’s youth, upon registration*.  For more information, please contact Trent University’s Conference Services: 705 748-1260 or conferences@trentu.ca. You can also visit the official Forensic Science Camp website at: www.forensiccamp.nrdpfc.ca
