Construction Underway on Trent Community Sport & Recreation Centre
Renewal and Expansion of Athletics Centre will Create New State-of-the-Art Home for Sport, Fitness and Recreation at Trent
The Symons campus at Trent University in undergoing some big changes as construction is now underway on the new Trent Community Sport & Recreation Centre.
“The shovels are in the ground, footings are being poured, and the new athletics facility is off and running,” said Bill Byrick, director of Athletics at Trent.
When completed in fall 2010, the expanded and renewed facilities will provide the Trent and Peterborough communities with a multi-sport centre of excellence. The new centre will offer users a large range of exciting features, including: an indoor rowing/paddling tank, a warm therapy pool, and a cardio loft overlooking the Otonabee River. The facility upgrades also offer amazing potential for growth in Trent’s signature community programs and will have a tremendous impact on health and well being of all residents of the Peterborough region.
