Head of the Trent and alumni homecoming weekend welcomes thousands to campus

Rowers on the Otonabee at Head of the Trent

October brings changing colours, cool weather and one of the most anticipated events at Trent University; the annual Head of the Trent regatta (HOTR) and Alumni Homecoming event.

From October 2-4, 2015, thousands of rowers, varsity athletes, alumni, community members and prospective students were greeted with blue skies and a brisk breeze for the 45th annual HOTR, the largest single day event of its kind in North America and the second largest amateur sporting event in Canada next to the Calgary Stampede, and one of Trent’s longest-standing traditions.

The weekend included not only rowing, but also varsity lacrosse, soccer, rugby and volleyball games and a full schedule of alumni reunion activities. Prospective students shared in the spirit of the Trent campus and community with the addition of campus tours to this year’s event.

The annual event is organized every year in partnership between Trent University, the Peterborough Rowing Club, Trent Varsity Rowing Team, Peterborough Community Police and the Trent Athletics.
