The final draft of the learning plan should be submitted to the supervisory committee as soon as possible after the completion of course requirements. It must be approved by the committee before the commencement of qualifying dossier component work. Students may begin working with their supervisor to establish the learning plan at any time during their foundational program phase, in order to track toward approval by the supervisory committee as soon as coursework requirements are complete.
Preparation and/or implementation of qualifying examination components may begin following the approval of the learning plan.
Dissertation research may begin following a passing result on the qualifying examination and approved ethics from the Trent Research Ethics Board as well as any other ethics and/or community consents required for the study.
