Steven Weinberg

Born in New York, Steven Weinberg earned a BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 1976. He was then recruited by Dale Chihuly to join the graduate program at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned his master's degree in 1979. His work is inspired by water and sea displayed by encapsulating bubbles in cast glass. His interest in water forms and sea themes inspired his next important series of boat forms and buoys. The buoys, less glassy, but more earthy and ceramic-like, recall his original love of clay. He currently works out of his studio in Rhode Island.
