2023 Summer Orientation Programming

Summer Orientation is open to all new Trent students and provides opportunities for students and their parents/supporters to learn more about the campus, services, and resources available during their time at Trent. Summer Orientation will run 3 times throughout the Summer: July 15th, July 21st, and August 11th. 

If you could not attend any Summer Orientations or would like to review a previous 2021 session, you can view a recording from the Friday, August 6th Summer Orientation.

Summer Orientation programming includes complimentary sessions, such as the Parent and Supporters Information Sessions, our Service and Resource Fair, the Nursing New Student Orientation, the Summer Connect Program, and Bring it On!   


2023 Summer Orientation

In the Summer Orientation sessions, student leaders facilitate many activities and discuss numerous topics about life at Trent: 

  • Registering for courses
  • Time management
  • Making academic decisions
  • What to expect when you arrive in September
  • Student life, clubs & groups, athletics, and much more!

There are several dates available throughout the summer, and students are encouraged to choose just one date that best fits into their schedule. To register for any of these in-person events click on the registration link below the date you wish to attend.

Summer Orientation Schedule 2022

The July 15th Summer Orientation Session will take place in Gzowski College / Enwayaang (ENW).

Registration and Check In 

Location: Gzowski College / Enwayaang (ENW) Atrium

Student Success Panel

This presentation will outline different resources that are available to you as a Trent student that assist in your mental and physical wellness

Location: ENW 117

9:15- 10:00 am 

Opening Remarks 

One of our college Principals will welcome the group to Trent and give a brief overview of the day

Location: ENW 117 and 114

10:00-12:00 pm 

Parent and Supporter Session 

A presentation that discusses the best ways to support your student as they transition into University

Location: ENW 114

10:00-12:00 pm

Student Presentations

This presentation will discuss various supports available to you as a Trent student including Academic Skills and Academic Advising. 

Location: Various ENW Seminar Rooms

12:00-2:00 pm

Lunch & Service Fair

The service fair will provide students with the opportunity to connect with various groups and supports at Trent including housing services, the college office and peer support.

Drop-in Course Registration

Drop in for support with course registration from your academic advisors and college representatives.

1:30-2:00

Off Campus Housing Presentation

A representative from Trent Housing Services will provide an in-depth description of off-campus residence life at Trent. They will also be available to answer any questions you may have about Trent's residences.

Location: ENW 117 

2:00-2:30

On Campus Housing Presentation 

A representative from Trent Housing Services will provide an in-depth description of campus residence life at Trent and will be able to answer all your residence and housing related questions. 

Location: ENW 117

1pm and 2pm 

Campus Tours 

 Join our staff for a campus tour where we will point out key spaces on campus and view some of the residence rooms available 

1 pm - Will be the full campus tour

2 pm - Will be residence tours only 

Note: There are no tours of the Annexs

Service and Resource Fair

Registration

Nursing New Student Orientation

This Summer's Nursing New Student Orientation occurred on Wednesday, June 16 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Nursing New Student Orientation website will cover information you may have questions about starting your Nursing degree at Trent. During Nursing Summer Orientation, these questions were addressed by faculty, staff, and current BScN students who are enthusiastic about welcoming you to your community at the Trent/ Fleming School of Nursing.
