Make your celebratory meal reservations early! You aren't the only on celebrating your convocation! Not only are there other Trent students trying to make reservations, but the Fleming convocation ceremonies are the same week. Make your reservations early to assure that you can go to your favourite restaurant when celebrating your big day.

Wear comfy shoes! The marshalling tent is on grass and the procession route is almost a kilometer, so those super high spike heels are best left for another time. Wear a comfy pair of shoes so you enjoy the walk to the University Court by Bata Library.

The gowns are open so people will see what you're wearing.

Leave your belongings (including purses) with your guests. You're not going to want to carry anything on stage.

Take some time with your friends and family after the ceremony to get some great on-campus photos in your gown and hood!

If your name is difficult to pronounce, determine in advance the best way to write it phonetically. You will be asked to write it phonetically on a card before the ceremony so the reader can say it properly as you cross the stage. E.g. Convocation: kon - vo - kay - shun
