Inviting International Guests
If your relatives are international and require an entry visa to attend your Convocation ceremony, please complete the following steps:
- Review the Inviting Your Family to Canada Checklist to understand the visitor visa application process and documents required.
- Once it's available, provide a copy of the schedule to your family members for their entry visa application.
- General Convocation invitations for all guests will be available here.

Tickets
Guest tickets are required for all guests over the age of 3 at the Peterborough ceremonies. Tickets will be scanned upon entry (print or mobile), and seating is first-come, first-served.
- Graduates will be able to claim 4 tickets and join a waitlist for up to 2 additional tickets when completing their RSVP, which will close near the end of May.
- Graduates are responsible for claiming and sharing tickets with their guests in advance of the ceremony.
- Graduates who successfully secure tickets will receive an email confirming their order and a digital copy of their ticket vouchers.
Guests who do not have tickets are welcome to view the ceremonies in Stohn Hall (room 1.22 in the Student Centre) and celebrate with their graduate and other guests after the ceremony.
Flowers, Frames & Gifts
Pre-order for flowers, gifts or t-shirts through the links provided and pick up at the ceremonies!
- Flowers & Grad T-Shirts
- The t-shirt is Trent branded and lists the names of all eligible graduates. There are separate t-shirts for Peterborough and Durham.
- Trent Branded Degree Frames and Gifts
- Through the Trent Bookstore and at a booth at the ceremony site.
- Purchase a Convocation Program
- Digital convocation programs are free to access online. If you'd like a printed copy as a keepsake, they are available for purchase.
Please wait until after the ceremony to give your graduate their flowers or gifts as they are not allowed to carry anything on stage.

Accessibility
- If you need a sign language interpreter please email convocation@trentu.ca BEFORE the ceremonies.
- Mobility Aids: If you require mobility assistance devices such as a cane, walker or wheelchair, we recommend you bring it with you to the ceremony.
- Parking: Accessibility permit parking is available beside the ceremony site. Elderly guests or persons with limited mobility may also be dropped off here. Please identify yourself to the parking attendants upon entry to campus and they will direct you to the accessible lot. Friendly ushers will assist guests to the accessible seating area.
- The ceremonies will also be broadcast in Stohn Hall in the Student Centre.

Parking

Parking is free for the convocation ceremonies. Guest parking is on West Bank, with overflow parking on East Bank. Ushers in safety vests will help to direct you and are available to answer any questions.
Please note that the distance from the parking lots to the actual ceremony can be up to 0.5 km. If this is a concern, guests can be dropped off at the ceremony site.
Students may be dropped off at the Student Centre on the West Bank for gowning before you park.
Bus Service
Peterborough Transit has many buses that come to campus. Review the TCSA website for full service details.
Alternatively, GO Transit has a stop for route 88, beside Gzowski College, on East Bank.
Restaurants & Accommodations
Peterborough has a number of excellent restaurants if you would like to book a meal with your graduate to celebrate after the ceremony. You can find restaurant and accommodation listings on the tourism site or "The Boro" site. Alternatively, you can stay on campus! Contact conferences@trentu.ca to book.
Ceremony Photos
Proofs of your graduate's photos are available for purchase and will be emailed to your graduate by info@mirandastudios.ca in the weeks after their ceremony.
