Trent Vice-President Research & Innovation Named Among Top 10 Most Influential People in Peterborough
In recognition of his leadership with the Cleantech Commons, and a $1.6 million increase in NSERC research funding, Trent’s Dr. Neil Emery, vice-president, Research & Innovation, secured the number eight spot on Peterborough This Week’s annual list of the 20 most influential people in the Peterborough region.
Joining Dr. Emery on the 2018 list are three local alumni change makers: Allan Seabrooke ‘77, commissioner, Community Services with the City of Peterborough; Peterborough MPP Dave Smith ’91; and former MPP Jeff Leal ’74, who received an honourable mention for his dedication to the community during his time as city councillor, member of parliament and provincial minister.
The annual rankings are determined by the Peterborough This Week newsroom who select local residents that “through their words and actions, effect the character, development and behaviour of this great community.” The full 20 Most Influential People in the Peterborough Region can be viewed on the MyKawartha.com website.
