Glendy Arevalo (she/her)
Major: Business Administration
Glendy studied at Trent during the 2023.24 academic term. Her home institution is Galen University in San Ignacio, Belize.
During her exchange Glendy found that Trent and Galen were very different. When it came to academics she noticed that students were encouraged to have advising sessions before enrolling to ensure they were making the best decision.
She was also happy that fees for textbooks were very reasonable and she didn't need to worry about extra expenses.
QUESTIONS
Why did you decide to study at Trent?
I decided to study at Trent University because I’ve heard a great reputation. Also, I made my own research and became in love with the environment by only seeing the pictures.
What expectations did you have of Trent before you arrived and how did they change upon arrival?
My expectations were to have all facilities students need and friendly environment. I was amazed with the welcome international students receive. The Trent International team is amazing! Also, the facilities I expected are so much better; for instance, the gym, silent/study zones, library, and bus transit.
What are you most looking forward to during your exchange?
I am looking forward to make friends from around the world, to learn some of Canada’s gastronomy and climate, and to learn from the expertise of the lecturers.
