Academic advising at Trent is dedicated to student learning, development, and success. Building a relationship with an academic advisor can help students throughout their time at Trent. Students in Peterborough will find an Academic Advisor associated with each of Trent’s different Colleges. There is also a Durham Campus Academic Advisor. Advisors provide support for course counselling and assist student with interpretation of university policies.
Students with transfer credits should meet with their Academic Advisor for assistance in course selection. Advisors can also do a degree audit to make sure students are on track for graduation.
Department of Social Work’s Academic Advising
In addition to Trent Academic Advisors, Linda Sweeting is the Department Academic Coordinator. She is available to meet with social work students in years 1-4 to assist with BSW course counselling and to help students achieve academic success and resolve student concerns. Advising sheet for first and second year students will assist with course selection for applying to the Professional Years.
