Psychology majors examine a broad range of topics, with the opportunity to design your degree to focus on more specialized areas of study including neuroscience, language and cognition, emotional intelligence, sexuality, aging and cognition, memory, and childhood development, just to name a few.

Global Development Studies (GDST) at Trent equips students with the tools to understand and analyze societal transformation. 

With a curriculum built from 10 academic departments, GDST explores wide-ranging themes, such as poverty, conflict, the environment, and gender. Learn from anthropologists, political scientists, economists, and other experts in courses that integrate theory and practical learning and emphasize critical thinking and social justice. 

Beyond learning a language, French Studies at Trent will guide you in developing a deep understanding of the culture, literature, and experiences of francophones in Canada and around the world.

In Sociology at Trent, you will find yourself questioning and critically exploring the relationships between individuals, groups, institutions, and societies, and the organization, processes, and consequences of social life with a focus on topics such as class, gender, race, work, health, culture, and migration.

Trent’s multidisciplinary Media Studies program helps you understand the culture behind the media we consume, focusing on the impact media has on us all. 

This hands-on program features a variety of course options in the arts and sciences, providing opportunities to examine the influence of advertising and ideology, the political economy of media corporations, the foundations of media arts, and the ecological impact of media technologies.
