E-Commerce

Expand your undergraduate expertise with this certificate teaching a variety of topics, including areas from marketing, such as advertising and retail marketing, and covering specifics of website best practices, customer relations, and social networking. 

Courses 

A minimum cumulative average of 60% is required to graduate with a postgraduate certificate. The certificate program consists of the following 5.0 credits: 

1.5 ADMN credits consisting of:  

  • ADMN 2080H: Managerial and Market Research 
  • ADMN 2100H: Introduction to Marketing 
  • ADMN 3150H: Advertising 

3.5 COIS credits consisting of: 

  • COIS-MDST 1010H: The Digital World 
  • COIS 1020H: Programming for Computer Science 
  • COIS-ADMN 1620H: Introduction to Information Systems 
  • COIS 2240H: Software Design and Modelling 
  • COIS 2430H: Web Development I: Front-End 
  • ADMN-COIS 2620H: Systems Analysis and Design 
  • ADMN-COIS 3750H: Principles of Online Marketing 

Admission Requirements 

The Postgraduate Certificate in e-Commerce is available to students who hold an undergraduate degree from any accredited university.

For students who have accepted their offer of admission and have questions about registering in their courses or life at Trent, please email ptbocerts@trentu.ca for Peterborough programs and durcerts@trentu.ca for Durham GTA programs.

International Student Information 

This postgraduate certificate program delivers education and training related to Canadian labour market needs and meets a field of study requirement set by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.  

The program belongs to the CIP code 52.0208 so students completing this certificate are eligible for a postgraduate work permit. 

Graduating from Trent this year? 

As a Trent grad, you qualify for direct admission to our Business Certificate program. To apply and register, just send a confirmation email to admissions@trentu.ca from your Trent University account. We will waive the application fee.  

Students who hold an undergraduate degree from Trent University may have a maximum of 1.0 credit (two 0.5-credit courses) from their degree applied to their postgraduate certificate program. Students entering additional postgraduate certificate programs may count a maximum of 1.0 credit (two 0.5-credit courses) toward the additional postgraduate certificate program.
