Trent University Mourns the Passing of Mr. Michael Boire

The Trent Community is saddened to learn of the death Trent employee Mr. Michael Boire, who passed away suddenly on Monday, January 23, 2012.

Mr. Boire joined the Trent community in 1998 as a technical supervisor in the Information Technology (I.T.) department.

The following is an excerpt from Mr. Boire’s obituary in the Peterborough Examiner:

BOIRE, Michael John (Mike) -(Former Trent University Employee) Suddenly at home on Monday, January 23, 2012 in his 57th year. Loving father of Andrew and Chantal Boire. Loving grandfather of Lenna. Lovingly remembered by his brothers, sisters, in-laws and nieces and nephews. Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012. Funeral Service in the DUFFUS CHAPEL on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. Interment at St. Columba's Cemetery, Pembroke, Ontario at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association. On-line condolences can be made at www.duffusfuneralhome.com/.

The University expresses its deepest sympathies to Mr. Boire’s family and friends and to all those who knew him in the Trent and Peterborough communities. In recognition of Mr. Boire’s contribution to Trent, the flag atop the Bata library has been lowered to a half-mast position.
