Trent University Saddened by the Passing of Student Samuel “Sam” Brown
The Trent University community is deeply saddened by the passing of Samuel “Sam” Brown, a second-year Business student.
“Sam’s family and friends shared that he truly enjoyed his experience at Trent and that it was where he wanted to be,” said Lawrence Lam, associate vice-president of Students. “Sam was still early in his time at Trent and we are saddened that his academic journey ended before it could fully unfold. The loss of a student is deeply felt by all of us at Trent.”
As written in his obituary, Sam was much beloved and cherished and “will be forever loved and remembered by his extended family, his many friends and his beloved cat, Bert.” Read Sam’s full obituary.
In honour of Sam, the flag atop Bata Library will be lowered to half-mast on the day of his service.
The University extends heartfelt sympathies to Sam’s family and friends, as well as to all who knew him at Trent. We understand that this loss is difficult for many in our community.
