A Ph.D. student, Trent alumna, educator, and healthcare leader, Natalie’s work bridged scholarship, practice, and community
The Trent University community is deeply saddened by the passing of Natalie Beavis (née Wasserlauf), a dedicated educator and student.
A two-time alumna of Trent University, having earned undergraduate degrees in Nursing and Environmental Studies, Natalie was pursuing her Ph.D. in Trent’s Interdisciplinary Social Research program. She also taught nursing students at Trent University and Fleming College, sharing her expertise and commitment to student learning across institutions.

She was known for her professionalism, dedication, innovation, and the care and compassion she brought to her work with colleagues and patients. Natalie was also active in the local athletic community as a rower with Trent and the Peterborough Rowing Club.
The University extends heartfelt sympathies to Natalie’s family and friends, and to all who knew her at Trent University. Counselling and supports for students and employees are available.
