The Trent Excalibur men’s soccer team completed their record-breaking regular season on Sunday and are set to begin their playoff campaign this week. The Excalibur will return to the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) playoffs for the first time in 14 years, where they will travel to Ottawa to face the Carleton Ravens (6-1-5) on Wednesday, October 15 at 8:15 p.m.

The squad finished the regular season 6-5-1 for 19 points, setting a new program record for both wins and points in a season (the previous record of five wins and 17 points was set in 2010-11). The Excalibur set both records in their 3-2 victory over Nipissing on Saturday in North Bay.

Trent finished the regular season in a three-way tie for fourth place in the OUA East Division, but dropped to sixth place due to the tie-breaking scenarios. Carleton finished the season in third place in the OUA East Division and are ranked eighth nationally.

The two teams played once this season, at Carleton on September 26, with the highly entertaining match ending in a 3-3 draw.

Wednesday’s game will be livestreamed on OUA.tv.
