Odours may be detected from waterproofing product

UPDATE: August 14, 2025

Contractors will be continuing to work on waterproofing the Bata catwalk starting the morning on Thursday, August 14.

The product being applied has a strong solvent smell. While all work is taking place outside, members of the campus community travelling near the catwalk may notice the odour.

To minimize the impact inside nearby buildings, the air handling units in Bata Library will be on full recycle mode throughout the duration of the work.

If you have any questions, please contact Facilities Management.
