May 5 marks the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and 2SLGBTQI+ people (MMIWG2S). Also known as Red Dress Day, this is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people. The red dress symbolizes lives lost and the continued efforts to address this issue.
