This year’s Open House will also feature new interdisciplinary expert panels, during which faculty members from different disciplines will discuss hot topics from the perspective of their own area of expertise. The three sessions will focus on artificial intelligence, climate change, and Taylor Swift

Future students and their guests will have the opportunity to learn all about Trent University’s recently enhanced entrance and prestigious scholarships, as well as ask questions about academic programs, see inside student residence, apply to Trent on the spot, and explore academic programs at Trent University Durham Greater Toronto Area’s Fall Open House on Saturday, November 16.

This year’s Open House will also feature new interdisciplinary expert panels, during which faculty members from different disciplines will discuss hot topics from the perspective of their own area of expertise. The three sessions will focus on artificial intelligence, climate change, and Taylor Swift.

"We can’t wait to welcome future students to our campus and introduce them to the Trent University Durham GTA experience," says Dr. Scott Henderson, vice-president and head of Trent University Durham. “We're always looking for new ways to showcase the student experience and hosting panel discussions on subjects relevant to the daily lives of students allows us to connect the learning experience to current issues in an engaging and fun manner.”

Students and guests attending Fall Open House will get the details about Trent’s recent increase to all renewable entrance scholarships. Through information sessions and a dedicated booth at the Student Services Fair, Financial Aid staff will help answer questions about Trent’s new full tuition scholarship for first year students entering with a 95% or higher average and renewable prestigious scholarships now worth up to $30,000.

Helping guests get to campus

To make it easier for students and guests to get to Trent, a free shuttle bus will run every 15 minutes from the Oshawa GO station to the Thornton Road campus. Attendees can also receive a reimbursement for their GO Transit tickets at the event.

Making the most of Open House

Guests are encouraged to explore all the features of Trent Durham Open House, from campus and residence tours, to connecting with professors and expert faculty, and attending info sessions about hands-on, career-boosting experiences.

All students who attend Open House are automatically entered in a draw for a chance to win free first-year tuition, and those who take a tour of Trent Durham’s modern academic and residence building can also enter a draw to win free residence and meal plan for a year.
