The Momentous Change edition of TRENT Magazine has made its way to mailboxes across the country and around the world, and the digital edition is now available online.

This special edition shares inspirational stories highlighting how Trent is creating momentous change through the impact and involvement of supporters, alumni, students, staff, faculty and community members.

“We knew launching the $100-million Campaign for Momentous Change was bold and ambitious, but we are humbled and honoured to see how enthusiastically the Trent Family and broader communities are embracing our goal to help bring truly momentous change to our world,” says Sherry Booth, associate-vice president, Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement at Trent University. “With thanks to this generous support, we are able to share momentous stories in the new magazine that demonstrate how together we are empowering students, enabling world-changing research, stewarding the University’s iconic architecture, and vitalizing our campuses.”

The world around us is changing at an unprecedented pace. The magazine features stories on how the Trent Farm and the Trent Centre for Aging & Society are helping the world understand, activate and steer those changes for good. You’ll also find in-depth interviews with inspiring Trent alumni who have used their Trent experience to create positive change in the world including John Horgan ’79, former premier of British Columbia, Jeannette Menzies ’95, Canada’s ambassador to Iceland, and Jonathan Pinto ’06, host of CBC Radio’s Up North.

The online magazine also links to bonus audio coverage that includes the full-length interviews with Horgan, Menzies, and Pinto; as well as almost 100 archived Trent Voices interviews with alum and other influencers. From household names to people working behind the scenes, Trent Voices guests are all helping to shape the world in their own unique ways. Listen to present and previous podcasts.

About the Campaign for Momentous Change

The $100-million Campaign for Momentous Change – the boldest campaign in Trent University history – will empower students, enable world-changing research, steward the University’s iconic architecture, and vitalize campuses. Launched in March 2023, the Campaign focuses on academic discovery, as well as the people and places at Trent’s campuses in both Peterborough and Trent University Durham GTA. Through the Campaign for Momentous Change, the University is fundraising for areas such as the Trent Fund to support student wellness, the Trent Lands and Nature Areas, the School of Education, School of Nursing, Faculty of Science, the Colleges of Trent, and the School of Graduate Studies. The Campaign also aims to recruit 500 new monthly Trent donors to provide sustainable and reliable support for students, research and learning spaces.
