Show your Trent Love for Valentines with a Personal #TrentOGram

Share your Trent digital Valentine and support Trent students at the same time

a photo of doug and marjorlaine boutin-sweet wearing sunglasses and smiling standing infront of the ocean. in the top right corner there is a photo of the same couple from the 1970's at their wedding. doug is on the left wearing a suit and glasses, and marjorlaine is on the right with curled hair, glasses, and a white dress.

Doug Sweet ’73 will never forget that fall day when a car with Quebec license plates pulled up to Traill College and out stepped the woman who would become the love of his life. Nearly 46 years later Doug and Marjorlaine Boutin-Sweet ’74 are happily married, the proud parents of two sons, and remain strongly connected to the University through the Montreal alumni chapter and informal annual gatherings with Traill friends.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, the couple is championing a new Trent University #TrentOGram initiative–Trent-inspired digital Valentines that benefit the Trent Fund to support students in areas such as emergency housing, bursaries and mental health initiatives.

“As proud alum who remain thankful for all Trent has provided over the decades – a great education, lifelong friendships and amazing memories, not to mention each other – it just makes sense to my wife and I to buy these Trent-O-Grams for each other and our Traill friends so we can help students with issues that are very close to our hearts,” Doug says.

#TrentOGrams are beautifully designed digital Valentines with artwork that acknowledges the University’s most iconic features. They can be individualized from a dropdown menu of nine messages including those appropriate for romantic loves (I met the love of my life at Trent – You!), friends (I met my best friend at Trent – You!), colleagues (Thanks for making Trent a great place to work) and professors (Thanks for making Trent a great place to learn.)

Senders are welcome to sign off by their names, nicknames or anonymously. You can also share your #TrentOGram and your own Trent love story on social media.

Order your Trent-o-grams by February 7. They will be emailed to recipients on February 14. Charitable tax receipts will be provided.

“We hope you’ll join us in this digital campaign,” Doug adds, “to help make Valentine’s Day extra sweet (no pun intended).”

Order or learn more about Trent-o-grams. Share your #TrentOGram Trent love story on social.
