Future students and their families will have the opportunity to discuss their university and career goals with Trent University faculty, staff, and current students—even deans and vice presidents—at this weekend’s in-person Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF) Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

At Trent’s OUF booth, future students will learn all about innovative new degree programs, guaranteed career experience, including new 20+ new paid co-op streams, and student life opportunities on both campuses.

“New for this year will be details about Trent’s unique new paid co-op streams for programs across Humanities, Social Science, and Science not normally associated with such career-related opportunities, like English Literature, Philosophy, Political Studies, Indigenous Studies and more," said Marilyn Burns, vice president of Communications & Enrolment. "Combined with a raft of new programs, specializations, and certificates in both Peterborough and Durham, Trent expects record attendance from parents and students eager to learn about the distinctly personal Trent experience- get back to in-person living and learning. We’re excited to be back at OUF for 2022!”

In its largest-ever Ontario Universities’ Fair footprint with stunning visuals and backdrops, Trent's newly expanded booth aims to bring the student experience to life at OUF. Highlights of the Trent University OUF experience this year are:

  • 20+ new co-op streams now available at Trent, which offer students the chance to get paid work experience in their fields of study during their degree, build professional connections, and graduate with 12 months of career experience;
  • New degree programs, including Data Science, Climate Change Science & Policy, Health & Behaviour, Communications, Criminology, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management;
  • Views of the expansion at Trent Durham GTA, including the new on-campus student residence and academic building and new eatery; and,
  • Seed of Success: students are invited to grow into their future and enter the draw for free first-year tuition by exploring the career filters on Trent University’s Instagram profile.

As always, our stellar team of professors and students from a range of programs are ready to answer questions about the Trent experience, scholarships, and admissions requirements. Also in attendance are our deans, college principals, and vice-presidents–a demonstration of the commitment of Trent’s senior leadership to student success.

When students visiting the Trent booth scan their OUF pass, they will be entered into the annual draw for first-year free tuition. In fact, each time they connect with Trent—attending a presentation or visit campus for tours or events—students can enter again and again to increase their chances of winning.

Over the course of the two-day event, visitors are expected to attend OUF to learn more about Trent’s two campuses in Peterborough and Durham Greater Toronto Area, as well as other universities across Ontario.

Trent has been attending the OUF since the fair’s inception in 1997 as a way to help secondary students gather information about programs, student life, residences, financial aid, work-study opportunities, study abroad, and admission requirements. Visit Trent University at the OUF at the Metro Convention Centre in downtown Toronto October 1 and 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
