Trent University is set to become the first post-secondary institute in North America to collaborate with SkipTheDishes and provide students with access to local restaurants in the Peterborough and Durham regions.

“With more than 12,000 students across our Peterborough and Durham Greater Toronto Area campuses, providing diverse dietary and cuisine options are always a top priority,” said Patti Kidd, manager of Campus Payment and Information Centre at Trent. “By collaborating with SkipTheDishes, we’re giving our students more choice to explore food options that suit their diet and desire to experience new flavours.”

Beginning in September 2022, students, faculty and staff using the Trent Cash system will be able to purchase SkipTheDishes vouchers and use a unique code to make purchases through the web or mobile app. The existing network of over 10 restaurants in Peterborough and three in Oshawa that already accept Trent Cash will be maintained. The addition of SkipTheDishes network of eateries will mean expanded access for Trent community members to local cuisine.

Trent community members can already use Trent Cash at 14 locations in the Peterborough and Durham regions, including:

In Peterborough Region:

  • Black Honey
  • The Whistle Stop Cafe
  • Cork and Bean Cafe
  • Pizza Pizza Delivery
  • YoYo's Yogurt Cafe
  • El Camino's
  • Osmow's Peterborough
  • Chaska
  • Taso's
  • Call-A-Cab
  • Subway at 140 Parkhill Rd W
  • Subway at 1535 Water St

In Durham Region:

  • Teddy's Restaurant
  • The Delicious Greek
  • Subway at 1910 Dundas Street East

The addition of SkipTheDishes partnerships will offer greater flexibility to Trent community members.
